She also hosts the popular “Joy Fit Club” series, Joy’s Diet SOS, Joy’s Healthy Food Finds, and Too Good to be Healthy. Together with Florence Henderson, Joy hosts RLTV’s Good Food, Good Deeds. Joy is the exclusive nutritionist for the New York City Ballet and the author of multiple New York Times bestselling books. As AOL and Everyday Health’s nutrition expert and the creator of JoyBauer.com, Joy provides the latest nutrition, health and diet-related information to millions of online readers. Joy is also a monthly columnist for Woman’s Day magazine.
Joy received her Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and a master of science in nutrition from New York University. Joy has served as Director of Nutrition and Fitness for the "Heart-Smart Kids Program", at The Mount Sinai Medical Center's Department of Pediatric Cardiology, and as nutrition consultant for the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, a clinical nutritionist with the neurosurgical team at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, taught Anatomy and Physiology and Sports Nutrition at New York University's School of Continuing Education, and also served as the exclusive nutritionist for New York University's faculty, students, and athletes. As the founder and CEO of Joy Bauer Nutrition, Joy headed one of the largest nutrition centers in the country for close to two decades.
Joy received the 2010 National Media Excellence Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as the 2012 American Society of Nutrition Nutrition Science Media Award. She lives in New York with her husband, Ian, her daughters Jesse and Ayden Jane, and her son Cole.
